In a statement released by Dade Middle School Principal Rhonda Bradford when Dade Middle School administration learned of a student who had threatened violence against the school, they acted quickly to ensure the safety and security of the staff and students. She went on to explain that this action was taken in coordination with local authorities, such as the Trenton City Police and the Dade County Sheriff’s Office.

The student who made the threat was not allowed on the school grounds today, according to Principal Bradford, who said that police enforcement and school authorities were working together.
In the statement Principal Bradford followed by thanking our local law enforcement for their continuous support and their quick response, and reminding everyone that the safety of the children, staff, and our community will always come first.
She continued, saying, “At this time local law enforcement is handling the investigation. There is no immediate threat to the safety of our school community. Dade Middle School will continue to work closely with law enforcement to ensure a secure environment for all students and staff.”
In closing, Principal Bradford reiterated the commitment to preserving a secure, encouraging learning environment for all members of their school community and encouraged students and families to voice any concerns they may have to local authorities or school officials.
