Charles “Chick” McCarty, 90, of Rising Fawn, GA, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at his home surrounded by family & friends.
He was born in 1934 in Rising Fawn to the late Chester & Mary McCarty where he helped on the family farm and learned to raise cattle. He worked for Mississippi Valley Steel until their closing. He then worked at North Georgia Bridge, hauled scrap metal and firewood, and worked side jobs in construction and helping any friends or family in need. You couldn’t have asked for a better husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Charles will be missed everyday and will live on in the hearts of all those that loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry McCarty.
