Rev. Bill Bass

Rev. William Rice “Bill” Bass age 92 of Pisgah, AL gained his Heavenly Home on January 24, 2026.  Funeral services are Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 12 Noon CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tommy Turner and Bro. Perry Wright officiating.  Burial will follow in Macklin Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM CT on Tuesday and 9 AM until service time on Wednesday.  In-lieu-of flowers, please consideration a donation in his memory to your church or favorite charity.

Bill was born August 10, 1933 in Chattanooga, TN to parents, Hal and Lela Pearl Arnold Bass.  He worked for 50 plus years as a Machinist in the tool and die trade at Singer Cobble Machines and Card-Monroe Corporation.  He served as a Deacon, Pastor and Sunday School teacher at Macklin Baptist Church and was a member of Mahan Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years,  Bettye Thornhill Bass, children, Charlotte Hall, Michael Bass(Tammie), Mark Bass, Michele Goff(Billy Joe), brother, Charles Bass(Iris), grandchildren, Emily Stewart(Phillip), Daniel Hall(Sarah), MyCale Wilborn(Michael), Micah Bass, Mitchell Bass(LaShauna), Zachary Goff(Reagan), great-grandchildren, William, Clinton(Shelby), and John David Stewart, Rivers, Cash and Mercy Hall, MyCaiden and MaKenna Wilborn, Abram, Levi and Malachi Bass, Levi Goff, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Pearl Bass, son, Lamar Bass, grandson, Micallie Will Bass, son-in-law, Rev. David Hall, daughter-in-law, Robbie Bass, siblings, John Thomas Bass, Sarah Elizabeth Bass, Mae Gant(George), Claude Bass(Loreen), Gerleen”Gerl” Darwin(D.O.).
