Betty Battles, 90, of Trenton, GA, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Betty was a woman of kindness & strength, she truly loved God and never wavered in her faith. She had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church for more than 60 years where she taught Sunday school and Bible school classes. Betty began her career as a switchboard operator for Southern Bell Telephone Company and retired after 35 years from AT&T. Betty created a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil & Alma Helton Lingerfelt, brothers, A.V. & Gerald David Lingerfelt, & sister, Dera Jo Lingerfelt Benefield.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 71 years, Benford Arlon Battles; son, Lynn (Lisa) Battles; brother, Garry (Bobbie) Lingerfelt; sister, Patricia Lingerfelt Moore; granddaughter, Kaydence Lingerfelt; several nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31st at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Billy Wallace & Rev. Tim Renshaw officiating.
