Wayne David “Cannon” Phillips age 62 of Ider died, Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at his residence. Funeral services are Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 12 Noon at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Elder Greg Phillips and Elder Matthew Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Fuller Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM CT on Friday and 10 AM until service time on Saturday.
Survivors include daughter, Olivia Phillips, son, William Phillips, sisters, Patricia Phillips, Mary Dillon(Randy), brothers, Barry Phillips(Martha), Greg Phillips(Sandra), Gary Phillips(Linda), Max Phillips, sister-in-law, Wanda Phillips, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous friends.
David was a 1980 graduate of Ider High School, attended Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church, and had worked at Gametime for 27 years. He also was the driver for country music singer, Mr. Charlie Louvin, making many trips to Nashville for the Grand Ole Opry. His greatest accomplishment was his children of whom he was very proud.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W. D. “Dub” Phillips and Morene Saffels Phillips, brother, Mike Phillips, niece, Julie Phillips and great-nephew, Ryan Phillips.
