Freddy L Ramsey age 72 formerly of Ider, Alabama passed away peacefully at his sister’s residence (Rachel Farmer) in Chattsworth, Ga. after suffering from a lengthy illness.
Freddy had worked at HEIL 18 years in Fort Payne Al. and previously at Chattanooga Glass Plant and most recently was known for his Yard Selling, Flea Markets and Produce sales.
Freddy was a member of the Ider Rescue Squad when he served over 20 years as a state licensed Ambulance Driver, Auto Extrication Technician and held the rank of Second Lieutenant as an officer donating hundreds of hours of service to the squad. He truly loved helping people.
Freddy was a master craftsman at wood working, building novilities and many personalized items for family and friends. He could build anything from Ringer type Washing Machines, Guns, Tractors, Bird Houses, Potato Boxes, etc. to name a few and enjoyed his wood working skills. He also took great pride in his painting abilities with a keen eye for every detail.
Freddy was an avid fishermen of all species, especially Bass, Crappie and Cat fishing with Trot lines and Jug fishing and Occosional Deep Sea fishing in his younger years He fished many Bass tournaments and a few Professional Bass Tournaments many years ago, with his partner and best friend Dennis Farmer. Most recently he fished the Tennessee River and local ponds with his cousin Ricky Little, Preacher Mike Williams and brother Verlon Ramsey catching Crappie and Cat fish which they gave away to family and friends. In 2022 Freddy and Ricky Little Freddy’s fishing partner caught a 46 lb Flat Head Catfish and donated it to the Chattanooga TN Aquarium where it still lives today.
Freddy was also a huge NASCAR spectator and diehard fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. . The last thing on his Bucket List was his hopes of one day getting to go see the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Museum. With failing health problems and that wish fading, his loving sister Rachel Farmer purchased tickets a few months ago and carried him to the museum where he completed his last Bucket list dream.

Special Cousin and fishing partner which Freddy called his Brother, Ricky Little, several cousins and many many friends. Ricky carried Freddy to doctor appointments, to get his treatments in Huntsville AL and was much more than a cousin, he was his Best Friend.
Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dianne Davidson Ramsey, parents Wes and Alice Keith Ramsey, half-brothers, Charles Ramsey, Clyde and Glenn Chapman, grandmother Mattie Chapman.
At Freddy’s request, there will be no funeral.
