George William Trask

George William Trask passed away October 21st, 2025, at the age of 93. He was born September 27, 1932, to Leslie and Edith (Payne) Trask. He served in the USAF. He trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour and was born again on September 5th, 1954. He graduated from Tennessee Temple Bible School on May 25, 1959, and married Sue Phillips the next day. He was father to 5 children, Grandpa to 19 grandchildren, and Great Grandpa to 29 great-grandchildren.

He pastored 4 churches in Missouri and Illinois over nearly 20 years before taking on the ministry of Camp Macedonia in Lula, Georgia in 1980. In 1987, he became the director of Sand Mtn Bible Camp in Trenton, GA, where he served faithfully as long as his health allowed. After 41 years of marriage to his wife, Sue, she passed away with cancer in 2000. In 2002, he married Thelma Case, and they were married for 21 years, before her death in 2023. This added 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren to his family.

George’s life was a testimony of love for the Lord who saved him and serving faithfully through the many years of preaching, pastoring and directing camps and retreats. He traveled to 29 countries in his lifetime, sharing the Gospel wherever he went.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Trask and Edith Keener, his wife, Sue Trask, his sisters, Dorothy Rivet and Mary Lea Downing, and his wife, Thelma Trask.He is survived by his children, Steve (Karen) Trask, Donna (Sam) McCauley, Philip (Tracy) Trask, Martha (Greg) Bagley, and Gene (Robin) Trask, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his “Case family” of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and many friends and loved ones whose lives he touched.

Visitation is at Ryan Funeral Home Friday, Oct 24 from 4 to 8 pm. There will be a viewing at the old Tabernacle site at Sand Mtn Bible Camp in Trenton from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct 25, followed by the Funeral service at 11 a.m.Pallbearers are Daniel Edgy, Jacob Brown, Jesse Morgan, Justin Bagley, John Fernandez, Kyle Banks, Robbie Leonard, and Zeke Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers are Ryan Trask, Aaron Trask, Andrew Oshia, David Ballinger, Eric McCauley, Evan Brown, Jimmy Long, Levi Trask, and Steven Trask.
