Kenneth Jack “Jackie” Underwood age 73 of Fort Payne(formerly of Flat Rock) died Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Crowne Health Care. Funeral services are Friday, February 6, 2026 at 1 PM ET at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ed Emerson officiating. Burial will follow in Payne Gap cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 AM until service time.
Jackie was born January 9, 1953 in Pikeville, TN to parents Muriel Lloyd and Mary Jean Matthews Underwood. After finishing high school he began work at Chattanooga Bakery and later opened his own catering food truck business. He loved sporting around in his Jeep and cheering on the Tennessee Vols. (Ouch)
Survivors include mother, Mary Cornell, sister, Marilyn Boatner(Rafe), niece, Gina Crow(Randy), nephew, Creed Crow, bonus daughter, Shannon Ellis(Jason), bonus grandchildren, Dakota Ellis, Jaselynn Ellis, longtime friend and caregiver, Russell Langston, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Muriel Underwood and bonus grandchild, Hunter Ellis.
