Johnnie Young age 83 of Flat Rock, AL died Monday, February 23, 2026 at Morning Point Assisted Living. Funeral services are Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 1 PM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rodney Romans officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 AM until service time on Wednesday.
Johnnie was born October 13, 1942 in Flat Rock, AL to parents, Alvin and Ruby Ferguson Koger. She was a 1961 graduate of Pisgah High School. She had worked as a Pediatric Nurse at TC Thompson Children’s Hospital for over 25 years. She was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends at the Ider Senior Center.
Survivors include son, Nolan Gibson(Crystal), grandchildren, Ricky Mincy(Lavinia) and a host of friends she made at Morning Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Cathy Gibson, husband, Edward Young, sister, Bobbie Jean Roach and brother, Lester Koger.
