Johnnie Roland “JR” Naler age 87 of Rome, GA died Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Pruitt Health Care in Rome. Funeral service are Saturday, May 10 at 4 PM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Frankie Carroll officiating. Military honors provided by American Legion Honor’s Team. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM CT on Friday and 2 PM until service time on Saturday.
Survivors include daughter, Lecia Lattimer, son, Rodney Naler(Laurie), grandchildren, Scott Lattimer, Jonathan Lattimer(Brittany), Eric Carr, great-grandchildren, Zander Lattimer and Tyler Lattimer, along with serveral nieces and nephews.
JR was born in Ider, AL to parents, Issac Isiah and Dora Kate Strawn Naler. He worked at Revere Cooper and Brass, North Alabama Transportation, Shaw Industries and the City of Rome before retiring. He served as a medic with the Alabama National Guard along with the Ider Rescue Squad. He was a member of Henagar Masonic Lodge and a 32nd Degree Shriner. He loved camping and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy Smith Naler, infant son, David Scott Naler, siblings, Lucille Long, Patsy Duncan, Vinna Lee Clardy, Flossie Blevins, infant sister, Kate, brothers, Arnold Naler and Millard Naler.
