Robert Larry “Doc” Williams age 75 of Ider died Friday, February 13, 2026 at DRMC. Funeral services are Monday, February 16, 2026 at 2 PM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 PM CT on Sunday and 11 am until service time on Monday.
Larry was born June 12, 1950 in Ider, AL to parents, John Carlton and Mary Louise Durham Williams. He was a 1968 graduate of Ider High School and attended Diesel School in Nashville, TN. He had worked for Southeast Diesel, Inc. for over 40 years and as an EMT fro DAS for 10 years. He was one of the first EMT’s of Ider Rescue Squad where he served as a member for over 40 years. He worked on equipment for farmers, loggers and truckers all around the surrounding area where he picked up the nickname as “Doc”. As simple as a cup of coffee in hand and ten minutes on the phone and he could solve most diesel related headaches and a few world problems. That was the “Doc”.
Survivors include wife, Pam Goza Williams, son, Larry Williams Jr.(Connie). daughters, Angela Hughes(Gary), Susan Williams(Chris Fuller), bonus children, Amy Cowart(Jeremy), Eric Dean(Sally), Jennifer Johnson(Ashton), grandchildren, Whitley Williams, Kaitlin Hughes, Larry Williams III(Savanna), Lacey Glover(David), Payton Williams, Aurora Johnson, Cooper Johnson, Libby Ayers(Lee), Caleb Ramos, Easton Dean, four great-grandchildren, sister, Barbara Dove. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Harley Williams, sister, Kay Frances and nephew, Martin Reagan Dove.
