Lois Hood Moreland, 92, of Lookout Mountain, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at her home.
Lois was born on June 14, 1933 in Jamestown, TN to the late Porter & Gertrude Blevins Hood and was a graduate of Alvin C. York High School. She was a member of Lookout Mountain Baptist Church and owned Hood’s Clothing Store in Lookout Valley for many years. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husbands, James William Thompson & Henry Moreland, four brothers & three sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Myrna Thompson of Lookout Mountain, GA, Charlotte Kerrigan of Phoenix, AZ, & Jamie Resha of Nashville, TN; sister, Lowanda Hood Gernt, Jamestown, TN; grandchildren, William Preston (Niki) Oneill, Lindsi Kerrigan, Erica Barbar, & Kyle Smith; three great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, September 14th at 2:00 p.m. CST at Taylor Place Cemetery in Jamestown, TN with Minister Bruce Mullinax officiating. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.
