Mary Welden Gore Frizzell age 96 of Flat Rock died Monday, October 27, 2025 at Highland’s Medical Center. Funeral services are Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 2 PM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jared Welden and Bro. Dennis Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.Family will receive friends Wednesday, from 4 to 8 PM and 10 AM until service time on Thursday.
Mary was born September 25, 1929 to parents, Paul and Minnie Mae Hickman Welden. She grew up on a family farm that instilled work ethics and Christian values that continued throughout her life. She joined Five Points Baptist Church in 1949, where she remained a member until her death. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, along with a weekly trip for a hair do. Cooking for her family and friends were one of her greatest joys.
Survivors include her children, Joyce Gore Stakely, Rhonda Gore George(Michael), Dale Gore(Cindy), grandchildren, Diane, Rodney, Roger, Tim, Carol, Trena, Kisha, Kala, Jared, Dustin, along with 22 great-grandchildren, several great great-grandchildren, sisters, Gean Phillips(Alfred), Janet Bryant, brother, Glen Welden(Carol), several nieces, nephews and special children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Georgia Gore Blalock, granddaughter, Debbie Day, husbands, R C Gore, Ernest Frizzell, sisters, Annie Lee Welden, Elizabeth Wozny, Louise Matthews, brothers, Winston, Willie and Wesley Welden, son-in-laws, Charles “Chuck” Stakely and Roy Blalock.
