Mary Pelham Johnson

Mary Ella Pelham Johnson, 83, of Ider, Alabama passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services are Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 11 AM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Luke McKay officiating. Burial will follow in Fuller cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Friday and 9 am until service time on Saturday.

Mary was born January 23, 1942 in Sherwood, Tennessee, to William Pelham and Sybil Cooper. She worked at DM Stewarts and Combustion Engineering. She was also a homemaker and fantastic cook who loved hosting family gatherings and holiday meals. She especially loved her family, including her siblings, children, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Ider Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Sybil Clark and Tonya (Dwayne) Hughes; son, Terry Johnson, Jr; grandchildren Joshua (Amanda) Clark, Terri (Brandon) Taylor, Clay (Meghan) Bowen, Jennifer Striplin (Christian Buckels), Katherine Blackwell, Wesley Denton, and Nicholas Denton; great-grandchildren, Austin (Samantha) Clark, Destiny and Savannah Burnett, Rai, Madison, and Miles Taylor, Benjamin and Aubrey Striplin, Timothy and Leila Junious, Avery Clark, and Banks and Nash Bowen; several great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Terry Johnson, Sr., son Bobby Denton, parents William and Sybil, sister Shirley, and brothers Gary, Billy, and Jimmy.
