Rudy Burnette Mays age 78 of Ider, Alabama died Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Huntsville Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 11 AM at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with President Vince Ramsey officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 am until service time.
Rudy was born May 17, 1947 in Dekalb County, Alabama to parents, Kaylor Buel and Buena Lee Shrader Mays. He had worked at many different trades that included: Funeral Service, a Butcher, a Salesman and a Truck Driver. While employed as a truck driver, he had driven for Shaw Industries, Game-Time and Pilgrim’s Pride. He was a member and Deacon at Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Fort Payne, Alabama. He had enjoyed raising hogs that produced his own brand of sausage for several years.
Survivors include wife, Peggy Knight Mays, brother, Michael May(Malina), daughters, Kerri Mince Wynn, Stephanie Mince Coker(Kevin), grandchildren, Ellis Wynn, Rustan Wynn, Austin Baxter and Sidney Coker. He was preceded in death by his mother, Buena Shrader Luke, father, Kaylor Buel Mays, son, Christopher “Chris” Mays, wives, Diane Carver Mays and Donna Tilley Mays.
