Vera Sue Hawkins age 86, of Gaylesville, AL died Friday, December 19, 2025 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 1 PM CT at Centre Congregational Holiness Church(located at 805 Alexis Rd, Centre, AL) with Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 11 am until service time at the church.
Sue was born September 21, 1939 in Cedar Bluff, AL to parents, Ross and Mary Ruth Wilkerson Sexton. She had worked a number of years at Centre Manufacturing as a seamstress. She was a member of Centre Congregational Holiness Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends
Survivors include son, Jeff Hawkins, daughter, Tina Hawkins Ferguson(Robby), special daughters. Staci Hill(Tom Munley), Samantha Vestal(Tim Bias), Christi Grogan, grandchildren, Arlin Turner, Chris Hawkins, Ashley Hawkins, Jarod Ferguson, Christa Ferguson, Gregory Hill, Caiden Hughes, Lexi Hill, Marina Hill, Marlie Bias, Mila Jo Bias, great-grandchildren, Isaiah Hill, Maci Keith, and sister, Elizabeth Mills.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bobby Hawkins, sisters, Juanita Dutton, Joann Vestal, Nancy Sexton and special friend, Johnny Alverson.
