Thomas Edward “Tommy” Coates, 73, of Trenton Ga passed away on Thursday July 24, 2025 at his residence. Tommy was a 1970 graduate of Dade County High School.
Tommy was a member of Edgewood Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding his bike and outdoor activities. He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Lazell Coates, his sister Patricia Willoughby, and his nephew Caleb Coates.
Survivors include his residence brother Hugh (Sonny) Coates Jr of Trenton Ga along with his nieces Mistie (Luke) Asher of Rossville Ga and Beth (Shawn) Chavis of Spanish Port Al and 4 great nieces (Courtney, Tabitha, Rebecca and Brooke) and a great nephew (Aiden).
Funeral services will be held on Friday August 1st at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Lilley officiating. Interment will follow in Payne Family Cemetery located at Lake Hills community in Trenton Ga. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
