The May 2025, Dade County Board of Commissioner Workshop & Dade County Board of Commissioners’ Regular Monthly Meeting is scheduled for tomorrow evening, May 1, 2025, and according to agenda the County Commissioners will be kept busy with business throughout.
Beginning with the Workshop, which is scheduled for 6 p.m., the County Commission will go over the previous meeting(s) minutes from April 2025, which will cover both the minutes from the April 3, 2025, Dade County Board of Commissioner Workshop & the Dade County Board of Commissioner Regular Meeting from the same night, as well as the previous meeting minutes from the Dade County Board Commissioners Special Called Meeting that took place on April 9, 2025.

The second topic(s) to be covered are the proclamations or resolutions being presented before and to the Dade County Commission to be implemented.
- Joint Proclamation, between the Dade County Board of Commissioners and the City of Trenton, which recognizes May 11th – May 17th Law Enforcement Week, naming May 6th Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
- Proclamation, naming May as Foster Care Month in Dade County, GA.
- Proclamation, recognizing May 17, 2025, as Armed Forces Day, to honor the Armed Forces of the United States of America and the many Veterans who have served, This will be celebrated on the 3rd Saturday of May going forward.
- Proclamation, regarding National Travel and Tourism Week – May 4, 2025, through May May 10, 2025.

Also, during the Workshop the Commission will go over Approval of SPLOST for Capital Equipment. There are four different items scheduled to be presented before the Commission tomorrow for SPLOST approval with the first being Mobile Assessor Equipment and Licensure by Chief Appraiser Paula Duvall. Ms. Duvall will be presenting a quote from Data Cloud Solutions regarding Mobile Assessor Equipment and Licensure. According to the quote being presented the following items or services are being quoted:

The next item up for SPLOST Funds is an F-150 Vehicle Purchase for Code Enforcement whose quotes are being presented to the County Commission by Stacy Stephens for consideration. Per the Workshop Agenda Ms. Stephens will be presenting the Count Commission with two quotes regarding the F-150, with one quote being from Moss Motors and the other, from Prater Ford.

The third item on the Workshop agenda for SPLOST Funds is an HVAC unit for DFCS which has three quotes (first quote by Callahan Mechanical Contractors – HVAC, the second, by Jake Marshall – HVAC, and the third, by Reeves Heating and Air HVAC) to be presented to the County Commission by Jared Hogan.

There is a final item listed on the agenda to be discussed tomorrow for SPLOST funds, which is listed as, Security Cameras – Recycling Center and Transfer Station; however, at this time there are not any supporting documents listed with the agenda.
Other items listed on the Agenda to be discussed during the Workshop are, the estimated rollback millage rate for 2025 notice of assessment (to be presented by Chief Appraiser Paula Duvall), the Storm Shelter – Community Use, the North Dade Historic Survey Update (to be provided by Donna Street, HPC Chair), Coroner Day of Remembrance (by Courtney Gross), and Overlooked Materials Proposal (by Commissioner Bradford) which will cover glass recycling.
