George Wayne Wood age 61 of Fort Payne, AL. died Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Riverview Medical Center. Funeral services are Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 4 PM CT at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Adamsburg Cemetery at Liberty Hill Baptist Chuch at Adamsburg. Family will receive friends from 1 pm until hour of the service.
Wayne was born October 3, 1964 in Fort Payne, AL. to parents, George Homer Jr. and Ellon Letracy Hawthorne Wood. He served in the Alabama National Guard and had worked as a Truck Driver.
Survivors include children, Brandon Wood, Matthew Wood(Chenoa), Dillon Wood(Rachel), Tyffany Gilreath(Bradley), LeighAnn Wood, grandchildren, Brielle, Zander, Isabella, Maggie, brothers, Kevin Wood(Kelly), Joey White(Amanda), step-mom, Faye Wood. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Arlene Smith.
