Deborah Spurgin Clayton

Deborah Spurgin Clayton, 77, of Trenton, GA, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 surrounded by her family.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Deborah was a member of Trenton Methodist Church and the Women’s Auxiliary with the American Legion Post #106. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clement Clayton, son, Donald Lee Spurgin, Jr., brother, Ricky Howard, parents, James & Betty Maybee Howard, and grandson, Daniel Ray Spurgin, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Steven (Becky) Spurgin, Ider, AL, Jason (Sheri) Spurgin, Pisgah, AL, Daniel (Kellie) Spurgin, Crossville, AL, & Kim (John) Peck, Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Travis Miller, Dillon Spurgin, Cody Spurgin, Dr. Jessica Bradford, Logan (Ally) Bradford, Kaitlyn (John) Spurgin, Jay Spurgin, Jacob Bradford, Lacie (Izack) Seahorn, Lakeisha (Markiese) Lee, Brandi Clayton, & Daja Peck; a host of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Sandra Jean Kopanke; brother-in-law, Nicholas Kopanke; niece, Deanne (Delbert) Kopanke-Wallin; great-niece, Lexi Wallin; many cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22nd at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Moody officiating. Deborah will be laid to rest at 3:00 p.m. EST at the Collinsville Cemetery, Collinsville, AL. Online condolences may be shared at ryanfuneralhome.net.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 21st from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. EST and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, Trenton, GA.
