With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joyce Ann Henderson, 73, of Lookout Valley, TN—a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and retired nurse—whose life was shaped by faith, and an unwavering dedication to her family.
Family was her priority, and it was a value she instilled in those closest to her. She fiercely loved her kids and grandkids. Joyce was extremely excited to meet her first great-granddaughter, who is expected to arrive in March.
Joyce Ann Henderson was born on September 20, 1952, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, to the late Cliff and Ollie Throneberry. She enjoyed her work as a pediatric nurse at Highland Pediatrics, where the children she treated and the families she served loved her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, William Henderson; her children, Kristen Cross and Jennifer Curtis; her beloved grandchildren, Joshua Cross, Madelyn Davis, Emory Cross, Ava and Henry Curtis. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Alexander, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clifton Throneberry and her sister, Francis Morrow.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens West.
Joyce’s love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the family she cared for so deeply. She will be missed more than words can express.
